Payer Issues with the Revised Treatment Delivery Codes & Other Issues
ASTRO is actively monitoring payer implementation of the revised radiation treatment delivery codes (CPT codes 77402, 77407, and 77412) and engaging with them to support appropriate coverage and payment consistent with CMS policy and clinical intent. If a payer denies, downcodes, or underpays one of these codes, start here. ASTRO is also monitoring trending payer issues like denials for Low-Dose RT for benign conditions. We’ll show what’s happening, what ASTRO is doing and what to do next.
