ASTRO met with Medi-Cal on June 10 to discuss updating California’s Medicaid fee schedule to reflect the 2026 coding changes. Medi-Cal acknowledged the need for the update and is currently working with state leadership to update the reimbursement rates. ASTRO will continue to engage with Medi-Cal and plans to follow up in the coming weeks to ensure this issue is resolved. For the past several months, ASTRO has actively advocated for revisions to Medi-Cal and other state Medicaid program reimbursement rates to ensure they accurately reflect the 2026 radiation treatment delivery code changes. ASTRO has communicated with key Medi-Cal stakeholders, including the Medicaid Director, Finance Division, and Coding and Reimbursement team, to advance this issue.
