ASTRO counts more than 10,000 radiation oncologists and professionals from other related occupations among its members.
Other interesting membership facts
- ASTRO has members on every continent (except Antarctica) and in 80 different countries.
- ASTRO members are approximately 75 percent male and 25 percent female.
- Approximately 60 percent of the members have their MD, another 12 percent have a PhD, and 5 percent have both. Another 5 percent have nursing certifications including RN, BSN and/or OCN.
- The ASTRO Associate Member category includes members from all of the radiation oncology treatment team specialties: medical physicists, radiation biologists, medical dosimetrists, radiation therapists and oncology nurses.
