ASTRO recently met with First Coast Service Options (FCSO), a Medicare Administrative Contractor (MAC), to discuss and clarify its reimbursement rate updates for radiopharmaceuticals. Questions have arisen regarding the pricing information published by FCSO, with some ASTRO members noting that the reimbursement they received for certain radiopharmaceuticals did not match the rate listed in the MAC’s fee schedule. FCSO advised providers to use its online lookup tool when verifying pricing information, rather than file downloads. According to FCSO, the lookup tool is updated in real time as new pricing information is received from manufacturers, while the file downloads are not as regularly updated.
