Seventeen states have updated their reimbursement and billing guidance for radiation therapy services, while ten others have acknowledged receipt and are working to update their fee schedules, following ASTRO’s letter to all 50 state Medicaid Directors requesting updates to radiation treatment delivery codes. ASTRO has been informed by its members that some state Medicaid programs continue to provide inaccurate or notably low reimbursement for radiation therapy services.
