More than 100 ASTRO members from across the country, representing 29 states, met in Washington, DC, May 19-20 to advocate for the ROCR Act, delivering long-overdue reform to burdensome prior auth practices, and encouraging robust Federal investment in cancer research programs. The two-day meeting also featured guest speakers and Hill meeting training to sharpen attendees’ advocacy skills. All U.S.-based ASTRO members should advocate on behalf of the patients you care for by contacting your members of Congress to ask them to cosponsor ROCR (S.1031/HR.2120) today!

Bipartisan prior auth bill reintroduced
ASTRO applauds the reintroduction of bipartisan federal legislation to reform prior authorization processes under Medicare Advantage. The Improving Seniors’ Timely Access to Care Act of 2025 (S.1816, H.R.3514) addresses critical and pervasive barriers that impact timely access to lifesaving cancer treatments. ASTRO urges Congress to swiftly pass the new bill, providing much-needed reform and supporting more efficient cancer care for Medicare Advantage beneficiaries nationwide. Contact your members of Congress to urge them to support this bill.
