ASTRO supports bill on lifting physicist's pay cap |
ASTRO has signed on in support of the Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Physicist Pay Cap Relief Act reintroduced by Reps. Sheila Cherfilus-McCormick (D-FL) and Juan Ciscomani (R-AZ) in May. This bill would lift the arbitrary pay cap imposed on the VA’s Therapeutic Medical Physicists (TMP) and Diagnostic Medical Physicists (DMP), which has exacerbated staff shortages and veterans’ access to care at VA facilities. White House budget proposes steep NIH and CDC cuts |
On May 30, the White House released its FY26 Budget in Brief, which proposes substantial cuts to the National Institutes of Health (NIH), the National Cancer Institute (NCI), and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Under the proposal, NIH would be reduced by almost half and NCI funding would be reduced by $2.7 billion. See more at What’s Happening in Washington. |
