ASTRO Gold Medal Gala
This year, ASTRO's cherished Gold Medal Dinner evolves into the Gold Medal Gala — a premier black-tie event for the field. Honoring the extraordinary lifetime achievements of our four Gold Medal Award recipients and introducing the inaugural Corporate Partnership Award, the Gala is an opportunity to celebrate our past while actively funding our future.

Tickets for the Gala are available for purchase as an add-on event during the ASTRO Annual Meeting registration process, with proceeds benefiting Speed of Light – The ASTRO Foundation.

Early Bird for the ASTRO Annual Meeting
 
ASTRO and House Cancer Caucus to host Capitol Hill briefing on radiation therapy policy
On July 14, the House Cancer Caucus will host an in-person Capitol Hill briefing focused on policies that support advances in radiation therapy. Speakers include ASTRO CEO Vivek S. Kavadi, MD, MBA, FASTRO; ASTRO Board Chair Sameer R. Keole, MD, FASTRO; ASTRO Government Relations Chair Casey Chollet-Lipscomb, MD, FASTRO; Cancer Nation CEO Shelly Fuld Nasso, MPP; and House Cancer Caucus leadership.
The panel will highlight how radiation therapy improves patient outcomes, outline the challenges facing community clinics, and present bipartisan policy solutions to protect access to high-quality cancer care. Leaders will also address the sudden 2026 reimbursement disruptions caused by Medicare billing code changes and rising practice costs.

ASTRO meets with Medi-Cal to address treatment code updates
ASTRO met with Medi-Cal on June 10 to discuss updating California's Medicaid fee schedule to reflect the 2026 coding changes. Medi-Cal acknowledged the need for the update and is currently working with state leadership to modify the reimbursement rates.

New On Target Podcast: Radiation Therapy for Cancers of the Liver
