NRC proposes sweeping overhaul of materials licensing
The Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) has proposed a broad update to its materials licensing regulations to reduce administrative burdens, streamline licensing and eliminate outdated requirements. While the proposal does not modify 10 CFR Part 35 medical use regulations, ASTRO is actively reviewing it to weigh the potential benefits against concerns regarding safety standards, consistent state implementation and patient safety reporting. For more info, go to WHIW.

Tell OMB to protect cancer research advancements
A proposed rule from the White House Office of Management and Budget (OMB) threatens to upend federal cancer research grants by allowing political appointee reviews and arbitrary grant cancellations. Use ASTRO’s grassroots advocacy tool to send a letter to the OMB urging them to protect research advancements.
