ASTRO is the premier radiation oncology society in the world, with more than 10,000 members who are physicians, nurses, biologists, physicists, radiation therapists, dosimetrists and other health care professionals who specialize in treating patients with radiation therapies. These medical professionals make up the radiation therapy treatment teams that are critical in the fight against cancer. Together, these teams, treat more than 1 million cancer patients each year.
Our staff thrives on working together to support these professionals. Knowing that what we do each day is helping people living with a diagnosis of cancer lends a real sense of purpose and meaning to the jobs we do. Every year ASTRO has a third party vendor, The Society for Human Resource Management, conduct an employee satisfaction and engagement survey. In 2016 our overall employee satisfaction was at 94 percent and our overall engagement score was a 4.2 on a 5 point scale.
