ASTRO is pleased to announce that 39 members will receive the ASTRO Fellow (FASTRO) designation. The 2026 class of Fellows will be officially inducted during the Awards Ceremony at ASTRO's 68th Annual Meeting in Boston. The Fellows program, which began in 2006, honors longtime Active, International and Emeritus members' outstanding achievements and contributions to the Society, cancer research, education, patient care and the specialty. Congratulations to the 2026 Fellows!

| CMS proposes changes for 2027 Quality Payment Program | |||

On July 16, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) issued the 2027 Quality Payment Program (QPP) proposed rule. The proposed rule includes critical changes to the Merit-based Incentive Payment System (MIPS), including the phasing out of traditional MIPS in favor of the MVP framework.

| Doctors Caucuses introduce Patients First Act; ASTRO advocates for ROCR inclusion |
| On July 15, the GOP and Democratic Doctors Caucuses introduced the Patients First Act to reform Medicare physician payments, led by Reps. John Joyce (R-PA), Greg Murphy (R-NC) and Kim Schrier (D-WA). ASTRO applauded the legislation, highlighted radiation oncology clinic closures and stressed the importance of including the ROCR Act in the final package. | ASTRO releases Active Motion Management Model Policy |
| In response to concerns about billing for Active Motion Management (AMM) under the 2026 radiation oncology CPT code changes, ASTRO has developed an AMM Model Policy. This resource is intended to support practices in communicating coverage, medical necessity and documentation expectations for AMM when clinically appropriate. Members may use the policy when engaging with payers, billing teams and practice leadership.
