Washington update: House committees act on physician payment reform
ASTRO’s advocacy efforts secured significant momentum on Capitol Hill following a multi-pronged legislative push:
  • ROCR Act Advocacy: ASTRO submitted testimony to the House Energy and Commerce Health Subcommittee outlining potential solutions to ongoing Medicare reimbursement cuts. Concurrently, an ASTRO-led coalition letter signed by more than 135 organizations urged physician lawmarkers to include the ROCR Act in upcoming structural Medicare payment reform packages.
  • Provider Reimbursement Stability Act: The House Ways and Means Committee successfully advanced the ASTRO-supported Provider Reimbursement Stability Act (H.R. 8163) out of committee, marking a critical step toward stabilizing the annual conversion factor variance.
