Call for Volunteers for ASTRO committee service
ASTRO is now accepting volunteers interested in serving on ASTRO committees and/or subcommittees for the Society year beginning September 29, 2026. To be considered for service, please visit the Call for Committee Volunteers online, where you may select up to two committees in order of preference. The Committee Volunteer process will remain open until May 1. Volunteers who are selected to serve will be notified no later than August 1, 2026. Follow this Roadmap to Committee Service for important dates throughout the process. Note: To assist ASTRO leadership in making appropriate committee appointments, please complete or update your Statement of Disclosure.
 
Nomination period for ASTRO Gold Medal Award closing this Friday
Please submit nominations by this Friday, April 10, for ASTRO’s highest honor, the Gold Medal, bestowed on ASTRO members who have made outstanding contributions to the field, including research, clinical care, teaching and service.
 
Help spread the word! Deadline April 17 for Survivor Circle Grant applications
Do you know a cancer support organization in Massachusetts, Rhode Island, New Hampshire or Connecticut? Encourage them to apply to the 2026 Survivor Circle grant. Two groups will be selected to each receive a grant of $12,500 and be recognized at ASTRO 2026 in Boston.
 
Future in oncology? Join the Live Medical Student Q&A
Know a medical student exploring a career in oncology? Invite them to ASTRO’s Live Medical Student Q&A on Wednesday, April 15, at 8:00 p.m. Eastern time, hosted via Zoom. Last reminder! ASTRO seeks public comments for updated guideline on RT for Pancreatic Cancer
Review the draft guideline on Radiation Therapy for Pancreatic Cancer and submit comments through the webform by April 15. This guideline addresses radiation therapy for the treatment of patients with invasive ductal pancreatic adenocarcinoma with a broad spectrum of nonmetastatic and metastatic pancreatic cancer. The scope focuses on radiation therapy delivered in the definitive, preoperative, postoperative and palliative settings.
