| Join us for ARRO Day in Room 156 from 11:00 a.m. - 5:15 p.m., Saturday, September 26, in Boston! ARRO's full day of programming begins with the residents-only hands-on Brachytherapy workshop on Saturday morning at 8:00 a.m. in Room 160/162 and ends with the ASTRO Welcome Kickoff on Saturday night at the Citizens House of Blues (ARRO members get free admission and an exclusive ARRO area). We look forward to connecting with everyone in Boston on Saturday and throughout ASTRO 2026! |
| Discover the Early Career and Mentoring Lounge at ASTRO 2026 |
| If you're looking to connect with colleagues, learn from mentors and gain practical advice for the next stage of your career, make time to visit the Early Career and Mentoring Lounge during the ASTRO Annual Meeting. This lounge is designed primarily for radiation oncologists in their first eight years of practice, but residents are invited to participate as well! Many of the sessions focus on topics that are highly relevant to trainees preparing for fellowship, job searches and the transition to independent practice. ARRO Healthcare Access Publication Award ARRO is pleased to announce the winner of the 2026 Healthcare Access Publication Award: Congratulations to John Butler, MD, PhD, PGY-5, University of California San Diego, selected for his manuscript, "Everything the Light Touches: Radiation Oncology Access and Availability in the State of Oregon." Dr. Butler will be recognized during the awards presentation at ARRO Day in Boston. |
| New from ARRO! Resident Resources for PGY-2s and Med Students |
| ARRO is excited to share two new educational resources designed to support learners at different stages of their radiation oncology training. The Medical Student Guide provides an accessible introduction to radiation oncology for students exploring the specialty, while the Residency Guide to Surviving and Thriving offers a practical foundation for incoming and early radiation oncology residents as they transition into clinical training. These resources were developed by Veronia Fahmy, DO, with support from the ARRO Education Committee and are intended to serve as practical, easily accessible references for trainees. |

| ARRO Global Health: Building a Pathway from Interest to Leadership |
| The ARRO Global Health Subcommittee (GHSC) is launching its 2026-2028 strategic plan to create a more visible and structured pathway for residents interested in global health. Our work will focus on three priorities: member development, research development and global outreach.
Key initiatives include transforming the ARRO Global Health Travel Grant into a 12-month leadership experience with structured mentorship and preparation; developing a longitudinal global health leadership curriculum; and creating a searchable Global Health Mentor Directory to connect residents with faculty mentors, international partners and feasible research opportunities. We are also expanding collaborations with international trainee organizations and partners, including jDEGRO, GROG/TROD, Rayos Contra Cancer, the Help Ukraine Group, the IAEA and the ASTRO International Committee and Ambassador Program. Through these partnerships, we plan to offer joint educational sessions and pilot team-based projects that bring U.S. and international residents together around shared educational and research goals. Residents interested in global health are encouraged to meet the GHSC team at the ASTRO Annual Meeting, join the subcommittee, and participate in upcoming educational sessions. Our goal is to build a durable pathway from interest to meaningful, mentored participation.

Whether you're just beginning your preparation or looking to refine your approach, these groups are designed to build confidence with the oral examination format in a collaborative environment.
