ARRO Program

The Association of Residents in Radiation Oncology (ARRO) hosts a full day of programming created by residents, for residents, grounded in the real questions, challenges and opportunities shaping training and early careers in radiation oncology. The programming reflects resident priorities, blending education, career exploration and meaningful connections with leaders across the field.

Attendees gain practical career insights from peer-driven discussions and mentorship opportunities. Every session is designed to support your growth and help you navigate what’s next as a radiation oncology resident. Explore the schedule below and build a day that equips you with the knowledge, connections and confidence to move forward.

ARRO Day - ARRO's Annual Seminar

Sponsored by Barrigel

September 26, 2026

11:00 a.m. - 5:15 p.m. |Location: Room 156, Thomas M. Menino Convention & Exhibition Center

Moderator: Alden D’Souza, MD, MPHS, Washington University in St. Louis School of Medicine

ARRO Day allows radiation oncology residents from across the country to convene, network and receive career guidance in academia, private practice or industry. The mentorship meet and greet facilitates low friction conversation with attendings interested in mentoring residents or medical students. We take time during the day to honor the attendings who have put particular effort into supporting residents and residents who are actively pushing the field forward.

During the graduation resident survey, we discuss insights from recent PGY-5 graduates about the current job market and how well navigating it went for them. Additionally, residents can hear directly from ASTRO's president and ask questions about the future direction of our field.
