Education Program

The Education Program will include all the educational sessions you are used to as well as the popular Presidential Symposium sessions, Keynote sessions, Practical Radiation Oncology sessions and the extended sessions which will dive deeper into a myriad of topics.

Keynote Speakers

These sessions feature a prominent speaker, sharing thought-provoking insights on relevant, broad topics. These presentations aim to inspire and engage attendees with new perspectives and ideas that include the field of health care and beyond. Presidential Symposium

This year's Presidential Symposium, led by ASTRO President Neha Vapiwala, MD, FASTRO, consists of four sessions that will highlight varying facets of the meeting theme "Data to Dialogue: Communicating Radiotherapy’s Value to Advance Care." These sessions include 1) Challenges and Opportunities in Scientific Knowledge Creation and Dissemination; 2) Organ-Preservation: The Undersung Value of RT; 3) Patients’ Perceptions of Radiation Therapy; 4) Stakeholder Perspectives. The Symposium will be held on Sunday, September 27, 2026, from 8:20 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. Learn more.

Practical Radiation Oncology (PRO) Program

Tailored for community practitioners, the PRO Program delivers evidence-based, real-world guidance on managing diverse cancers and the practical challenges of modern oncology care. Sessions explore topics such as reducing treatment toxicity, emerging therapies, evolving disease-site management strategies, workflow efficiency, policy developments, translating clinical trial data into high-value community practice and more. Workshop Sessions

Workshops at the annual meeting offer focused, interactive sessions that explore critical topics in cancer care, professional development, and health care program implementation. From physics, brachytherapy and functional radiation medicine to graduate medical education, radiopharmaceutical therapy program best practices, disaster preparedness and continuity of care, and grant writing, these workshops provide practical insights and strategies for attendees across the oncology spectrum.
