This white paper summarizes many of the areas throughout radiation therapy that may benefit from the application of peer review. It examines current recommendations and work on peer review in radiation oncology and describes the role and importance of peer review as part of quality management. It also discusses traditional approaches to peer review and possible targets for peer review for physicians, dosimetrists, physicists and radiation therapists, as well as how to prioritize these potential areas for peer review. Last, it provides guidance for implementing effective peer review.
