BIOGRAPHICAL SKETCH

Chelsea C. Pinnix, MD, PhD, is an Associate Professor in the Department of Radiation Oncology at MD Anderson Cancer Center, specializing in the treatment of patients with hematologic malignancies. In addition to a commitment to patient care and clinical research, Dr. Pinnix is also passionate about education. She has served as the Associate Program Director of the residency program at MD Anderson Cancer Center between 2016 - 2020, and in 2020 she assumed the role of Program Director. At MD Anderson she serves as Chair of the Radiation Oncology Teaching and Quality Assurance Conference and the Co-chair of the Division of Radiation Oncology Grand Rounds Selection Committee.

Dr. Pinnix has been an Active Member of ASTRO since 2013 and has a history of service to ASTRO and education. She has served on the Annual Meeting Lymphoma Track Committee since 2014, acting as the Vice-chair of this committee since 2020. Since 2021, she has participated as a member of the Annual Meeting Scientific Committee. She was a member of the ASTRO CME-MOC Committee between 2015-2020. Currently she is the Vice-chair of the Association of Directors of Radiation Oncology Program (ADROP) and serves on the ASTRO Workforce Task Committee.

In addition to her service on ASTRO committees, she acted as Associate Editor for the Hematologic Malignancy Section of the Red Journal between 2015-2017, and then served as Senior Editor of this section until 2020.  She is a category member and board examiner of the hematologic malignancy section for the ABR, an exam writer for the Lymphoma/Leukemia Section for the ACR In-Training Examination for Radiation Oncology, and a steering committee member of the International Lymphoma Radiation Oncology Group (ILROG).
