ASTRO sent a letter to Capitol Hill on February 10 urging lawmakers to incorporate ASTRO’s outlined priorities into policymaking as they begin 2026. The letter encourages lawmakers to reform Medicare reimbursement for radiation therapy services by passing ROCR, hold Medicare Advantage insurers accountable for promises of transparency and affordability by reforming prior authorization, and ensure the federal government maintains a robust investment in radiation research programs at NIH, NCI, CDC and ARPA-H. ASTRO reiterated its commitment to working with Congress to protect access to cancer treatments close to home.
