ASTRO joined more than 550 organizations urging Congress to increase funding for the National Institutes of Health (NIH) by 8.7% in FY2027. After securing an increase in FY 2026, medical research stakeholders are looking to build on the momentum and take NIH funding to $51.303 billion, allowing the budget to keep pace with increasing costs and allow growth.
