Howard Sandler, MD, FASTRO, was President and Board Chair of the American Society for Radiation Oncology (ASTRO) (2023-2025). He is Chair of the Department of Radiation Medicine at Oregon Health and Science University in Portland.
Dr. Sandler specializes in treating patients with prostate and other genitourinary cancers and has significant experience leading landmark clinical trials that have shaped modern radiation approaches to these diseases. He is also a longtime advocate for policies that support high-quality, value-based cancer care and expand access to life-saving radiation treatments.
