Dr. Yashar is the incoming (2025-2026) President-elect of the American Society for Radiation Oncology (ASTRO) and Chief Medical Officer for UC San Diego Health, where she also serves as Associate Dean and a professor of radiation medicine and applied sciences.
Dr. Yashar specializes in treating patients with breast and gynecologic cancers and is a national authority in brachytherapy. A recognized expert in health policy and economics, she is also a strong advocate for policies that increase patient access and reflect the true value of radiation oncology care.
