| 2026 ASTRO Radiation Oncology Resident Fellowship |
| ASTRO and Speed of Light – The ASTRO Foundation are pleased to announce the 2026 ASTRO Resident Fellowship, supported by an educational grant from AstraZeneca.
This program provides a radiation oncology resident (PGY-3 or later) with funding for a mentored research project and a one-year, remote, part-time assignment with AstraZeneca. We are currently seeking one-year research proposals investigating the intersection of radiation oncology and immuno-oncology in non-small cell lung cancer. |

| Advocacy Win: UHC unbundles CPT 77387 in IMRT Reimbursement Policy |
| As of June 1, UHC updated its IMRT reimbursement policy to no longer include CPT 77387, for image guidance, as part of the list of bundled codes for IMRT planning, CPT 77301. Many physician practices were facing denials for the professional work of image guidance, with UHC citing it as a not separately payable code. After meeting with ASTRO leaders, UHC removed 77387 from the policy and members should no longer receive inappropriate denials. If you continue to experience denials for this code, please contact our health policy team. |
| AMA provides clarity to treatment delivery codes in 2026 CPT professional book |
| The AMA published its Errata and Technical Corrections to the 2026 CPT book, clarifying that 2D delivery to a single isocenter falls under Level 1 delivery (77402) and 2D delivery to multiple isocenters falls under Level 3 delivery (77412). The book had previously included “any” 2D delivery under Level 1 and did not specifically list 2D for “multiple isocenters” under Level 3, which led to denials from payers for CPT 77412 for multiple isocenter 2D treatments. Now, the update is aligned with the original intent and descriptor of the CPT delivery codes. ASTRO will reach out to payers about this update so that they can revise their policies accordingly. |
| ASTRO boosts support for functional radiation research |
