Spotlight on the Radiopharmaceuticals Workshop |
On Saturday, September 27, from 1:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Pacific time, the Radiopharmaceuticals Workshop will be held, with a focus on “Moving Beyond the Basics: Implementation of a Radiopharmaceutical Therapy Program.” The workshop will cover information on clinical indications, difficult cases, medical physics considerations, development of standard operating procedures for clinical implementation, billing and safe theranostic delivery practices. Increase your understanding about how to effectively and safely conduct an RPT program at your institution. The workshop is free for students, residents, fellows and patient advocates and $150 for other meeting registrants. |

The scientific program includes 2,000 abstracts presented in a variety of formats including Science Highlights, Oral and Quick Pitch sessions. More than 1,750 posters covering cutting-edge research in all the major disease sites will be available in the Poster Hall and online. Presenters in both science and education sessions are invited to record a short video to offer a preview their session. New ASTRO Academy Course on oligometastatic prostate cancer |
Learn from a panel of experts in the field of GU malignancies on how to personalize treatment recommendations based on imaging, pathology and clinical findings for patients with oligometastatic prostate disease. Directed and moderated by Shalini Moningi, MD, Oligometastatic Prostate Cancer: A Multidisciplinary Approach to Patient Care is now available in the ASTRO Academy. Are you a radiation oncology resident interested in congressional advocacy and government relations? If so, ASTRO’s Government Relations (GR) Fellow program is for you! The GR Fellow will participate in advocacy meetings, including meetings with members of Congress or their staff. The GR Fellow will also receive an Emerging Advocacy Grassroots Leader award for travel to Advocacy Day. Apply by September 1. |

WRAD is a day dedicated to uniting the global community and highlighting the essential role of radiation therapy to treat cancers, relieve symptoms and improve patient's quality of life. September 7 was chosen as it was the date the first patient was treated on a linear accelerator in 1953.
