The Health Care Access and Advancement Subcommittee hosted a webinar in December 2025 with Chika Madu, MD, FASTRO, Chair of the Community Engagement and Advocacy Committee of the ASTRO Health Care Access and Community Engagement (HACE) Council, to discuss key barriers to clinical trial participation and practical strategies to broaden patient access and participation. Dr. Madu is Chair of the Cancer Committee and Quality Assurance Committee in Radiation Medicine at Staten Island University Hospital (SIUH) and is an Assistant Professor at the Donald and Barbara Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell.

Dr. Madu discusses key barriers to clinical trial participation and practical strategies to broaden patient access and participation. The session highlights actionable approaches for trainees and early-career physicians to support inclusive clinical research and trial availability.
