| Residents are invited to apply for several ASTRO grant funding opportunities for 2026. These awards, many of which are offered in collaboration with other organizations, range from $50,000 to $225,000 over one to three years. Deadlines are as early as January 12, 2026, and extend to March 2026. See the available opportunities and deadlines. |

The Health Care Access and Advancement Subcommittee is excited to be hosting an upcoming webinar titled “Expanding Access to Clinical Trials” featuring Chika Madu, MD, FASTRO, on December 11 at 7:00 p.m. Eastern time. Dr. Madu serves as the Chair of the Community Engagement and Advocacy Committee as part of the ASTRO Health Care Access and Community Engagement (HACE) Council. She also serves as the Chair of the Cancer Committee and Quality Assurance Committee in Radiation Medicine at Staten Island University Hospital (SIUH) and is an Assistant Professor at the Donald and Barbara Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell. | We are excited to announce the first transatlantic ARRO-jDEGRO webinar, “Functional Radiotherapy for Nonmalignant Conditions,” taking place on December 9, 2025, at 12:00 p.m. Eastern time. This resident-led collaboration will feature Bobby N. Koneru, MD, FASTRO, and Jan Kriz, MD, PhD, who will discuss clinical applications of functional radiotherapy for nonmalignant conditions, including practical insights on patient selection and treatment approaches. | The projected three-year major revision of the ACGME Common Program Requirements is underway, and the ACGME task force is requesting feedback through their second stakeholder survey, with specific interest in reaching residents and recent graduates. Please consider participating in the ACGME Survey by December 11 to provide feedback on: work hours, dedicated time, faculty ratio, quality and safety, well-being, categorization, artificial intelligence, and nutrition. |
