Biographical Statement
At times, I consider myself a man without a home, so to speak. I grew up primarily in Montana and Arizona, with stops in Vermont, Minnesota, and Utah, where I graduated from Brigham Young University with a degree in Biochemistry. I then moved to Houston, Texas, to attend The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (McGovern Medical School). During my time in medical school, I served as a student representative on the Curriculum Committee, advocating for my fellow medical students and working to improve our curriculum. My fascination with optimizing and streamlining medical education led me to integrate Anki and third-party resources into our curriculum. I have also worked extensively with the AnKing Med group to improve Anki decks and other educational resources for students around the world. After medical school, I remained in Houston, where I completed my internship at UTHealth before joining The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center radiation oncology program, from which I will graduate in 2029. My passion for resident education stems from my desire to be a “learner and lifter”—to do my best to learn and improve while making the path forward easier for those who come after me. I am excited to serve on the ARRO Executive Committee and co-lead the Education Subcommittee to help make this goal a reality. Outside of medicine, I enjoy reading and spending time with my wife and four daughters.
