Biographical Statement

Dr. McGee is an Assistant Professor of Radiation Oncology at Mayo Clinic Arizona (MCA) in Phoenix, where she is actively involved in clinical care, research, and medical education. She subspecializes in the treatment of head and neck cancers and breast malignancies. Currently, Dr. McGee serves as the Associate Chair of Education in the Radiation Oncology Department and as the Residency Program Director.

With a deep passion for medical education across all career stages, Dr. McGee has contributed extensively to educational initiatives. She served as a member of the ASTRO CME/MOC Committee (2019–2020) and has been an appointed member of the Mayo Clinic Arizona Education Committee since 2023. Additionally, she has been the Course Director for the Mayo Clinic Multidisciplinary Head and Neck Cancer Symposium since 2023.

Dr. McGee has successfully mentored numerous students—from undergraduates aspiring to medical school to medical students interested in radiation oncology residency. She has been actively teaching oncology concepts and oncologic emergencies to second-year medical students at the University of Arizona Phoenix College of Medicine since 2017. Her educational service includes membership on the Mayo Clinic Alix School of Medicine Education Committee (2017–2019) and an educator role in the Science of Healthcare Delivery Curriculum at MCA (2019–present).

At the departmental level, Dr. McGee has held several key leadership roles in residency education. She served as Residency Associate Program Director from 2020 to 2024 before becoming Residency Program Director in mid-2024. She was a member (2017–2020) and chair (2020–2024) of the Residency Clinical Competency Committee (CCC) and has participated in the Radiation Oncology Education Committee since 2017. She has been a member of ADROP since 2020. She was honored with the ARRO Educator of the Year Award in 2023.

As Residency Program Director, Dr. McGee has launched working groups focused on advancing curriculum development, recruitment, medical student outreach, program growth, and Education Innovation and Learning Environment Optimization (EILEO). She finds mentoring medical residents highly rewarding and is passionate about optimizing educational curricula and learning environments to support the next generation of physicians. Dr. McGee looks forward to collaborating with colleagues and contributing to the ADROP community in the coming years.
