Natalie A. Lockney, MD, is an Associate Professor in Radiation Oncology at Vanderbilt University Medical Center and the Program Director for the radiation oncology residency. Dr. Lockney is also Assistant Medical Director for the Nashville campus. She completed medical school at Vanderbilt University School of Medicine, prior to her residency training at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center where she served as Chief Resident from 2016-2017. She then was an Assistant Professor of Radiation Oncology at the University of Florida in Gainesville, Florida, where she was honored to receive the ARRO Educator of the Year Award in 2020. She then practiced at Sutter Solano Medical Center in Vallejo, California, before joining Vanderbilt in 2021. She is board-certified in Radiation Oncology and specializes in treating patients with malignancies of the gastrointestinal tract and head and neck. Her research focuses on supportive care measures.
Dr. Lockney has a strong interest in medical education. She has served as the Program Director for Radiation Oncology since 2021 and has served as a course director for career planning electives within the medical school. She serves as a member of the steering committee for the medical physics residency program and as the radiation oncology liaison for the Vanderbilt Palliative Care Education Curriculum, a multidisciplinary collaboration to provide palliative care education to learners across multiple training programs.
