I am seeking the opportunity to serve as Vice President of the Association of Directors in Radiation Oncology Residency Programs (ADROP) because I am deeply committed to advancing radiation oncology education and strengthening the national community of program directors responsible for training the next generation of physicians. My service on the ADROP Executive Committee as a Director-at-Large has given me the opportunity to contribute directly to the organization’s mission and to better understand the challenges and opportunities facing residency programs nationwide. During my tenure, I have been actively involved in initiatives addressing medical student engagement in radiation oncology and residency program preference signaling, including efforts to gather and analyze national program director perspectives on these rapidly evolving aspects of recruitment and the Match. These experiences have reinforced my belief that ADROP is uniquely positioned not only to identify emerging challenges, but also to generate data, foster collaboration, and provide practical guidance that benefits both residency programs and trainees. Serving as Vice President would allow me to build upon the work I have already undertaken within ADROP while assuming a greater leadership role in shaping the organization’s future priorities. I would bring continuity, institutional knowledge, and a demonstrated commitment to translating the needs of our membership into meaningful initiatives, with particular emphasis on recruitment, medical student engagement, resident education and professional development, workforce considerations, and the evolving graduate medical education landscape. I would be honored to continue serving the ADROP community and to help ensure that our organization remains a strong, collaborative, and forward-looking voice for radiation oncology residency education.

Serving as the Program Director of the Radiation Oncology Residency Program at OSU since 2017, I have led transformative efforts to enhance training and to integrate research and professional development into the curriculum at OSU. These efforts have led to numerous publications, national awards, and research grants for OSU Radiation Oncology residents. In recognition of these efforts, I was honored to receive The Ohio State University's Outstanding Program Director Award in 2021. I also serve on both the ASTRO Education Committee and the ASTRO Government Relations Committee. I am passionate about mentorship at all levels and have also helped lead the Ohio State University Honors College International Fellowship Committee for the past decade. My experiences as a Program Director and Vice Chair of Education working with so many outstanding residents have given me the opportunity to lead with purpose, foster a culture of excellence and compassion, and contribute meaningfully to the future of Radiation Oncology. I hope to bring my experience and vision to ADROP and help continue to guide and shape the future of clinical training in Radiation Oncology.

I am interested in being considered for the Director-at-Large position on the ADROP Executive Committee. I have served as a Program Director for the past 5 years and have appreciated the support provided by the ADROP community. I would value the opportunity to represent my fellow program directors and assistant program directors, while working alongside the other members of the executive committee, to support ADROP’s current and future initiatives. While I look forward to hearing the response rate to this year’s most recent ADROP survey while we are in Boston, I would like to strengthen the survey response in the future and gather feedback on what topics our program leaders would like to see ADROP address in our bi-annual meetings and beyond. I believe there is great potential to expand our sharing of resources as we work together to strengthen the educational experience of our trainees, navigate our roles within our departments, and foster our own professional development.

I am applying for the Director-at-Large position on the ADROP Executive Committee as I am committed to advancing our residency education programs. As Associate Residency Program Director at UCSF, I work daily on the challenges facing training programs today, including curriculum design, resident mentorship, and building sustainable educational infrastructure across a multi-site academic system. I have a particular interest in developing structured mentorship pathways for residents and in strengthening the educational rigor of clinical training, and I see these as central to the long-term health of our specialty. I am also committed to fostering inclusivity within our specialty and advancing women in radiation oncology, and I would bring that commitment to ADROP's programming and mentorship initiatives. I would bring this program-level perspective to ADROP's work. I welcome the opportunity to contribute to ADROP's mission and to help strengthen the mentorship networks that sustain our specialty's next generation.
