Copy Editing and Translation Services Available

ASTRO is pleased to partner with Editage to offer a 10% discount for authors seeking copy editing and translation services. Please use this Author Services link to receive the discount. These services are offered for the benefit of authors, and individuals who participate will remain anonymous. Copy editing and translation are provided by Editage.

Preprints

Elsevier's sharing policy permits preprints to be shared anywhere at any time. Sharing your preprints on a preprint server will not count as prior publication, but please notify the editorial team if you have posted your paper to a preprint server.

Proofs

Corresponding authors will receive a link to edit their proofs in Proof Central. Corrections may be made directly on an HTML version of the article or on a downloadable PDF.

Offprints

The corresponding author will receive a customized Share Link providing 50 days of free access to the final published version of the article on ScienceDirect. The Share Link can be used to share the article via any communication channel.

Corresponding authors may order paper offprints for an extra fee via the offprint order form sent when the article is accepted for publication. Corresponding and co-authors may order offprints for a fee at any time via Elsevier's Webshop.

Corresponding authors who have published their article gold open access do not receive a Share Link, as the final published version of their article is available open access on ScienceDirect and can be shared through the article DOI link.

Open Access

Articles published under the open access option will be subject to the following user license: Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives (CC BY-NC-ND) which, for non-commercial purposes, lets others distribute and copy the article, and to include it in a collective work such as an anthology as long as they credit the author(s) and provided they do not alter or modify the article. Red Journal and PRO:
The Red Journal and PRO do not ordinarily have publication charges; however, authors can opt to make their articles available to everyone (open access) via the ScienceDirect platform for a fee of US $3,000. The open access fee excludes taxes and other potential costs such as color charges. In some cases, institutions and funders have entered into agreement with Elsevier to pay the fees on behalf of their authors. View details of these agreements are available.

Please note that you can make this choice only after receiving notification that your article has been accepted for publication to avoid any perception of conflict of interest. Your publication choice will have no effect on the peer review process or acceptance of submitted articles.

Authors of accepted articles who wish to take advantage of the open access option should complete and submit the open access form that is emailed to them once the manuscript is received by Elsevier. Whichever access option you choose, you retain many rights as an author. View more information.

Advances:
Advances is a Gold Open Access journal: all articles will be immediately and permanently free for everyone to read and download. To provide open access, Advances has an Open Access fee, also known as an article publication charge (APC), payable by the authors or on their behalf by their institution or funder. Please see the table under the "Article Publication Charges" heading for specific prices.

Funding Body Agreements and Policies

Elsevier has established agreements with some funders that allow authors to comply with their funder's open access policies. Some funders will reimburse authors for the Gold Open Access publication fees. Details of existing agreements are available online.
