Fellow

The ASTRO Fellow designation (FASTRO) is awarded based on ASTRO membership, service to ASTRO and contributions to the field of radiation oncology. Generally, the required length of membership in ASTRO is 15 years, however, individuals with less than 15 years of membership who have contributed substantial service to ASTRO may be considered for fellowship. In addition, commendable contributions in one of four possible pathways to becoming a Fellow – leadership/service, research, patient care and education – is required.

The ASTRO Fellows Program had its inaugural year in 2006. The first group of ASTRO Fellows was inducted in a ceremony on Sunday, November 5, at the 2006 Annual Meeting in Philadelphia. As of October 3, 2023, 450 ASTRO members have been inducted into the Fellows Program. The 2023 Class of ASTRO Fellows was inducted at a ceremony during ASTRO’s 65th Annual Meeting on October 3, 2023 in San Diego.
