New this year, a Brachytherapy Workshop for residents will precede regularly scheduled ARRO Day programming on Saturday morning. The Brachytherapy Workshop is free to members-in-training and will include both didactic and hands-on learning opportunities.

8:35 a.m. - 8:50 a.m.GYN – Essentials of Endometrial Cancer Brachytherapy
Presenter: Kristin Bradley, MD, University of Wisconsin

Learn how to select, place, and plan with the "right" applicator for endometrial cancer, with a focus on intrauterine tandem and cylinder-based workflows and troubleshooting common placement issues.
8:50 a.m. - 9:10 a.m.GYN – Essentials of Cervical Cancer Brachytherapy
Presenter: Allison Garda, Mayo Clinic

Review best practices in cervical brachytherapy, including applicator selection (e.g., tandem and ring vs. interstitial), insertion techniques, and how to optimize geometry for dosimetric coverage.
9:10 a.m. - 9:30 a.m.GU – Essentials of an LDR Prostate Implant
Presenter: Marisa Kollmeier, MD, Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center

Understand the step-by-step process of permanent seed implant brachytherapy, including pre-planning, intraoperative seed placement, and technical considerations for successful outcomes.
9:30 a.m. - 9:50 a.m.GU – Essentials of an HDR Prostate Implant 
Presenter: Mitchell Kamrava, MD, Cedars Sinai Medical Center

Gain practical insights into HDR prostate brachytherapy workflow, including catheter insertion techniques, image guidance, and common pitfalls in planning and delivery.
9:50 a.m. - 10:00 a.m.Break
10:00 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.Hands-on Skills Session: Residents will rotate through four interactive stations to practice applicator assembly and insertion techniques, work with phantoms, and gain hands-on experience with spacer placement and vendor equipment. Each station includes a brief industry-led overview followed by supervised skill development.
