This year's Presidential Symposium, led by ASTRO President Sameer Keole, MD, FASTRO, consists of four sessions that embody the meeting theme: Potential, Pitfalls and a Path Forward for Radiotherapy Beyond Cancer; Zap the Pain, Code the Gain: Billing for Benign RT; Central Nervous System; and Past, Present and Future of Stereotactic Arrhythmia Radiotherapy for Ventricular Tachycardia.
Tailored for community practitioners, the PRO Program delivers evidence-based, real-world guidance on managing diverse cancers. Sessions cover topics such as advanced gynecologic and breast cancer, brain tumor re-irradiation, liver and pancreatic malignancies, lymphomas, cSCCa, bone metastases, and more — along with insights on liquid biopsies and the economics of radiation oncology.
These in-depth sessions offer extended time for comprehensive presentations and interactive discussions on complex topics. Featured subjects include emerging indications for radiation in poly-metastatic cancers and the ASTRO/KCA joint session on stereotactic radiotherapy in renal cell cancer, with a focus on overcoming radioresistance and treatment hesitancy.
These powerful sessions use storytelling to share personal and professional experiences in cancer care. Topics include delivering radiotherapy in conflict zones and addressing survivorship in adolescent and young adult cancer patients.
These sessions are designed to foster in-depth discussions on advancements in cancer treatments. They provide valuable insights into the evolving landscape of the field, offering practical knowledge to enhance professional development and improve patient care.
