Transportation Information

Getting Around San Diego

San Diego International Airport (SAN) is approximately three miles and 10-15 minutes from the San Diego Convention Center. The MTS Trolly is the public transportation system that offers stops at the convention center and other areas outside of downtown San Diego.

Shuttle Buses

Shuttle buses will operate between official ASTRO hotels and the San Diego Convention Center. The service will be provided continuously throughout the day starting on Saturday, September 30, 2023, and ending on Wednesday, October 4, 2023, for anyone who has booked a room through the ASTRO Housing Center. Public Transportation

The MTS Trolley is San Diego's light rail transit network. Its three lines serve many popular areas and attractions, such as Downtown, the Convention Center, SDSU, Old Town and the Mexican border.

FRED: Free Ride Everywhere Downtown

A unique form of transport in San Diego is the electric, open-air vehicles called FRED (Free Ride Everywhere Downtown). This completely free service works through a mobile app and can be a great option if the pickup times align with your schedule. Download the Ride Circuit app to request a ride. Check for hours of operation.

Ride Sharing

San Diego has a multitude of rideshare car service options such as Uber or Lyft.

Taxi

On average, a one-way taxi ride from the San Diego International Airport (SAN) to the San Diego Convention Center is approximately between $15-$20 (gratuity not included).
