HHS announces additional $413M in Provider Relief Funds

On March 22, the Department of Health and Human Services announced another round of Provider Relief Funds (PRF) totaling $413M. According to the HHS announcement, this Phase 4 payment round is focused on providing smaller providers with funding to offset a higher percentage of losses during the pandemic and includes a bonus payment for providers who serve Medicaid, Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) and Medicare beneficiaries. Since the onset of the COVID-19 Public Health Emergency there have been three previous Provider Relief Fund payment phases equating to almost $70 billion in allocated funding.
ASTRO members who have secured PRF funding are reminded to check the HHS website frequently for updates regarding reporting requirements associated with funding distribution. Recipients who received one or more payments exceeding $10,000, in aggregate, during a Payment Received Period are required to report in each applicable Reporting Time Period as outlined in the table below. The PRF portal is currently open for period 2 reporting with a March 31, 2022, deadline.
