Breast Cancer Screening

    Breast cancer is the most commonly diagnosed non-cutaneous cancer in women in the United States, and the second leading cause of death from cancer in American women-second only to lung cancer.  Breast cancer mortality can be effectively reduced through screening.  The purpose of this guideline is to review breast cancer screening guidelines and the evidence used to support the recommendations and highlight new screening modalities and controversies surrounding screening.
