ASTRO holds topic-based research, training, and career development workshops to foster research and training in radiation oncology. Below are some of our upcoming workshops.

ASTRO Think Tank: Genetic Determinants in Radiation Oncology Recent advancements in genome science have revolutionized every field of medicine including radiation oncology. This think tank will delve into the topics of genetic factors affecting radiation treatment.
LOI Workshop Learn more about the Letter of Intent Workshop, a hands-on approach to writing an LOI through didactic and breakout sessions, headed up by leaders at the National Institutes of Health and the Food and Drug Administration.
Grant Writing Workshop This workshop allows burgeoning radiation oncology researchers to learn from some of our most successful members how to write a successful grant application. The Grant Writing Workshop will be held as part of the 2018 ASTRO Annual Meeting.

2018 Research Workshop The 2018 Research Workshop was held at FHI360 Conference Center in Washington, DC, on July 26, 2018. Presentations and discussions focused on the interface between the tumor microenvironment and radiation oncology practice and research.
ASTRO Think Tank: Biomarkers and Nanotechnology New advances in biomarkers to predict radiosensitivity/resistance and to determine good therapies to combine with radiation is making it possible to predict outcomes. This one-day meeting touched on these and other topics.
AACR-FDA-ASTRO Clinical Development of Drug-Radiotherapy Combinations This two-day workshop will bring together regulatory agencies, industry and academia to discuss the challenges in greater depth and come up with a path forward.
2017 Immunotherapy Workshop This meeitng was held at the NIH main campus in Bethesda, Maryland, on June 16, 2017. The interaction between immunotherapy and radiation therapy research was discussed by some of the top researchers in the field.
