2019 ASTRO Annual Meeting Press Kit

The ASTRO Annual Meeting is the world’s largest scientific meeting in radiation oncology. The 2019 meeting will take place September 15-18 at McCormick Place West in Chicago. The meeting is expected to attract more than 10,000 attendees including oncologists from all disciplines, medical physicists, dosimetrists, radiation therapists, radiation oncology nurses and nurse practitioners, biologists, physician assistants, practice administrators, industry representatives and other health care professionals from around the world.

Led by ASTRO President Theodore L. DeWeese, MD, FASTRO, the four-day meeting is organized around the theme, “Innovate, Collaborate: Transform.” New results from clinical trials and other research studies will be presented in conjunction with educational sessions; keynote addresses on artificial intelligence/deep learning in medicine (Monday) and global health in oncology (Tuesday); and a special Cancer Breakthroughs session (Wednesday) to recap the past year in cancer research. Additionally, more than 200 exhibitors will demonstrate cutting-edge technology and medical device innovations for radiation oncology and cancer care.
