About the Meeting

The ASTRO Annual Meeting is the world’s largest scientific meeting in radiation oncology. Attendees include oncologists from all disciplines, medical physicists, dosimetrists, radiation therapists, radiation oncology nurses and nurse practitioners, biologists, physician assistants, practice administrators, industry representatives and other health care professionals from around the world.

Led by ASTRO President Paul Harari, MD, FASTRO, the 2018 meeting was organized around the theme, “Translating Discovery to Cure.” Abstracts sharing results from clinical trials and other research studies were presented in conjunction with educational sessions and keynote addresses from:

  • Mark Stevenson, Futurologist, Author (Tuesday, October 23)
  • Special Anniversary Session: Trailblazers Contemplate the Legacy and Future of Radiation Oncology (Wednesday, October 24)

During the four-day meeting, more than 200 exhibitors demonstrated cutting-edge technology and medical device innovations for radiation oncology and cancer care.

2019 Annual Meeting

ASTRO will return to Chicago for our 61st Annual Meeting. The meeting will be held September 15-18, 2019 at McCormick Place West. Press registration for the meeting will open in April 2019.
