This is the second year that we are celebrating #WomenWhoCurie Day, in honor of Marie Curie’s birthday. Through this special day, we hope to celebrate the amazing women across the world that are treating patients with cancer with radiation and the amazing team members that make vital contributions to the care of patients. We would also like to increase awareness of radiation oncology as a fantastic specialty among female medical students who are interested in oncology.
Based off the recent #ILookLikeAnEngineer and #ILookLikeASurgeon social media campaign, the #WomenWhoCurie campaign looks to break stereotypes in traditionally male-dominated fields by encouraging women to take a picture capturing what it means to work in radiation oncology.
