ASTRO is proud to recognize individuals who make substantial contributions to the field of radiation oncology, as well as leaders in other oncology disciplines. Three categories of awards are presented annually at the ASTRO Annual Meeting.

  • Fellows Program

The ASTRO Fellows designation is awarded based on length of ASTRO membership and commendable service to ASTRO and to the field of radiation oncology. The required length of active membership in ASTRO is 15 years. In addition, four possible pathways to becoming a Fellow – leadership/service, research, patient care and education – are considered.

  • ASTRO Gold Medal Award

The Gold Medal is ASTRO's highest honor bestowed on revered members who have made outstanding contributions to the field of radiation oncology. This includes research, clinical care, teaching and service. Recipients are drawn from any of the scientific disciplines represented by the members of the Society.

  • Honorary Membership
