ASTRO’s 55th Annual Meeting
September 22 – 25, 2013
Georgia World Congress Center, Atlanta

ASTRO’s Annual Meeting is the premier scientific meeting in radiation oncology and attracts more than 11,000 oncologists from all disciplines, medical physicists, dosimetrists, radiation therapists, radiation oncology nurses and nurse practitioners, biologists, physician assistants, practice administrators, industry representatives and other health care professionals from around the world. The theme of the 2013 meeting is “Patients: Hope • Guide • Heal,” and the meeting will focus on patient-centered care and the importance of the physician’s role in improving patient-reported outcomes and the quality and safety of patient care.

As of August 1, 2013, keynote and featured speakers for the 55th Annual Meeting include William B. Munier, MD, director of the Center for Quality Improvement and Patient Safety at the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality; Darrell G. Kirch, MD, president and CEO of the Association of American Medical Colleges; James Cosgrove, PhD, director of the U.S. Government Accountability Office; Otis W. Brawley, MD, chief medical officer of the American Cancer Society; and Peter Friedl, MD, PhD, of St. Radboud University Nijmegen Medical Centre at the University of Nijmegen and MD Anderson Cancer Center.

There will be a dedicated Press Room available to credentialed journalists during the following hours:

  • Sunday, September 22: 7:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
  • Monday, September 23: 7:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
  • Tuesday, September 24: 7:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
  • Wednesday, September 25: 7:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

2013 Embargo Policy:
All abstracts accepted for presentation at ASTRO’s 55th Annual Meeting, September 22-25, 2013, at the Georgia World Congress Center, are embargoed until the date and time of scientific presentation or presentation at an ASTRO News Briefing, whichever occurs first. The Embargo Policy applies to all abstracts regardless of whether information is obtained from another source. Failure to abide by the Embargo Policy may result in suspension of press credentials at the 55th Annual Meeting as well as future meetings, and may also impact the ability to receive advance press materials for future meetings.
