Presidential Symposium
Sunday, October 24 | 8:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
The 2021 Presidential Symposium “Advancing Person-centered Care Through Innovation” will showcase how innovation can improve patient outcomes and experience. New this year, in all sessions, patient speakers will share their perspectives.
In the first session, “Harnessing Scientific Innovation to Improve Person Centered Care”, advances in AI, imaging, real time planning, image guidance, radiopharmaceuticals, FLASH and biomarkers will be discussed. The second session, “Digital Health to Improve Patient Outcomes and Experience”, includes talks on crowdsourcing, equitable digital health, patient reported outcomes and successful implementation of digital advances to the clinic. The third session will highlight some potentially paradigm changing applications of radiation therapy, such as the rapidly expanding role of radiation therapy in the treatment of oligometastases, radiation therapy as an immune modulator, and radiation therapy as a curative alternative to surgery for liver cancer.
The Symposium will end with a lively debate on randomized clinical trials versus real world data, concluding with a vote and panel discussion featuring patient advocate and survivor, Jill Feldman. This is a Presidential Symposium you won’t want to miss!
