Networking
We’ve all been missing the opportunity to network with friends and colleagues during live meetings over the past year. ASTRO is eager to provide you with ample opportunities to network and connect in person at the live 2021 ASTRO Annual Meeting as well as virtually on our new Digital XP platform. Here are some of the ways you can develop and strengthen your personal and professional connections and relationships.
Annual Meeting Career Center
Employers and job seekers: A new ASTRO Career Center will be launched on September 9! Employers attending the Annual Meeting will want to take advantage of the updated Annual Meeting job posting and appointment scheduling features, as well as introductory pricing. Job seekers, be sure to post your résumé on the Career Center. Whether attending the Annual Meeting as an employer or a job seeker, don’t miss the opportunity to connect with potential candidates or your new employer!
Business Meeting and Luncheon
All ASTRO voting members (Active, Affiliate and International members) are invited to attend the Annual Business Meeting where Society leaders will discuss topics of interest to the membership. Enjoy lunch with your fellow members and learn the latest from ASTRO. Tuesday, October 26, from 12:00 p.m. – 1:15 p.m. in room W183, Level 1.
Digital XP
The ASTRO Digital XP platform has opportunities for networking built in. Once you’ve logged into the platform and completed your profile, you can connect with in-person and virtual attendees. You will have the ability to search for your colleagues and request and schedule video calls with individuals or small groups. Digital XP attendees and all full-registration meeting attendees have access to Digital XP so the potential to connect with other attendees is great. There are also other opportunities to connect via chat during Digital XP Live and Digital XP SimuLive sessions hosted on the platform. Interact with your peers during sessions and then, reach out to set up meetings to get to know one another better.
Exhibit Hall
An important and popular part of the ASTRO Annual Meeting each year is the Exhibit Hall, where key decision-makers explore the latest products and services to improve their practices. This is an opportunity for attendees to network with industry partners, view product demonstrations and ask questions about new products and trends on the horizon.
Job Board
A job board will be available in the Central Concourse on level 3 with an interactive connection to the new ASTRO Career Center. Employers who are attending the Annual Meeting can flag job postings online prior to the meeting and connect with job seekers on site. Job seekers may bring copies of their resumes to post on the on-site job board, in addition to posting it online.
Mentor Match
ASTRO invites all members, from Students through Emeritus, to enroll as a mentor or mentee in our new Mentor Match program. This online networking and career development tool helps ASTRO members find, connect and share experiences with other members. Mentor Match uses an automated process to facilitate matches between mentors and mentees based on search criteria you provide during enrollment.
Already enrolled? Mentors and mentees are encouraged to meet up during the ASTRO Annual Meeting. The MyASTROApp can help you connect and schedule a meeting time. Look for the areas set aside in the convention center to meet up, including the ASK ASTRO Booth located on Level 3, Central Concourse of McCormick Place West and in the Exhibit Hall.
MyASTROApp
Connect with colleagues using the app’s networking feature. Annual Meeting attendees are listed in the MyASTROApp. “Request a Friend” or “Request a Meeting” using the App. MyASTROApp syncs with the Annual Meeting Conference planner and will store the sessions you have bookmarked, exhibitor meetings scheduled and other appointments created on either platform. With MyASTROApp you can have your most up-to-date schedule and meeting information at your fingertips.
MyASTROApp will be available for download from your app store mid-August.

ROhub 2021 Annual Meeting Community

Upon registration, full-registration meeting attendees receive a welcome email from ASTRO President Laura Dawson, MD, FASTRO, detailing community benefits. The community covers topics such as meeting highlights, presenter’s personal takes on their respective sessions and more. From interacting with fellow attendees and presenters to receiving the latest news straight to your inbox, ROhub has something for everyone. The community is a great place to pose any questions you have about the meeting to other attendees and ASTRO staff.
