• 2017 Immunotherapy Workshop

Co-Sponsored by ASTRO, National Cancer Institute (NCI) and Society for Immunotherapy of Cancer (SITC)
    June 15-16, 2017
Natcher Building, NIH Campus, Bethesda, Maryland

Cancer Immunotherapy (CIMT) has emerged as a groundbreaking new approach in cancer treatment, with many hailing IMT as the fifth pillar of modern cancer therapy. Radiotherapy has been a longstanding stalwart of cancer treatment. The far-reaching impact of incorporating radiation therapy with CIMT is stark and exciting.

With the current CIMT surge and potential for identifying and finding novel solutions to overcome immune suppressive barriers, the focus on how to best combine radiotherapy and CIMT has never been more timely and important.

This Workshop will cover many of the questions surrounding this promising new approach, including:

    • What are the best radiation doses, volume and fractionation schedules that synergize with CIMT?
    • What burden of disease is best targeted with radiotherapy and CIMT?
    • What predictive biomarkers exist, and which are valuable?
    • What combination and sequencing of CIMT with radiation would be best for clinical trials?
