This section provides up-to-date information on Medicare's quality initiatives and value-based reimbursement programs, including PQRS, Meaningful Use, the Merit-based Incentive Payment System (MIPS), and Alternative Payment Models (APMs).

  • MACRA: MIPS & APMsBeginning 2017, all physicians will be subject to the Merit-Based Incentive Payment System (MIPS) and Alternative Payment Model (APM) programs. Medicare payments will be adjusted positively or negatively based on quality and cost performance in these programs.
