American College of Radiology (ACR) – Appropriateness Criteria

ACR develops scientifically based appropriateness criteria to assist radiologists, radiation oncologists and referring physicians in making appropriate imaging decisions for given patient clinical conditions.

American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO)

ASCO is a professional organization representing physicians who treat people with cancer. ASCO develops evidence-based clinical practice guidelines and technology assessments for a variety of cancers and associated conditions.

Cancer Care Ontario- Program in Evidence-based Care (CCO-PEBC)

The Program in Evidence-based Care bridges the gap between high-quality cancer care research and current clinical care options by:

  • Developing evidence-based care information for health care providers and the public.
  • Maintaining the quality and currency of resources.
  • Ensuring the availability and accessibility of resources.
  • Disseminating and evaluating resources.
  • An important component of PEBC is the Practice Guidelines Initiative, which is dedicated to developing clinical practice guidelines and evidence summaries.

Centers for Medicare and Medicaid (CMS)

The Medicare Coverage Advisory Committee provides advice on scientific and clinical questions regarding coverage. In its initial charter, MCAC had an Executive Committee and six panels. Each panel addressed a different category of medical intervention. The purpose of this Executive Committee document is to provide guidance to the six panels. The goals of this document are to promote consistency (within and between panels) in the reasoning that leads us to a conclusion about the evidence and accountability (to each other and to the public) to explain the reasoning.

Health Technology Assessment International (HTAi)

HTAi focuses uniquely on health technology assessment and provides the key forum for all those from the worlds of health care, academia and business interested in the science, development and application of HTA.

HTAi's mission is to support the development, communication, understanding and use of HTA around the world as a means of promoting the introduction of effective innovations and effective use of resources in health care.

The International Network of Agencies for Health Technology Assessment (INAHTA)

INAHTA's mission is to provide a forum for the identification and pursuit of interests common to health technology assessment agencies.
