ASTRO Resident Clinical/Basic Science Research Awards
This one-time award is designed to promote clinical research by young scientists. The award consists of a certificate and an honorarium of $1,500. The award is granted to the top three resident-authors of significant abstracts in physics, biology and clinical practice. Applications are due April 2, 2010. Certificates and honorariums will be presented at the Annual Meeting in November 2010.
ASTRO Nurse Excellence Award
The Nursing Excellence Award is an ASTRO recognition to be awarded to a registered nurse who goes above and beyond the normal standards of nursing practice. To be eligible, he or she must demonstrate excellence in direct patient care delivered in a hospital or clinic setting. This individual must consistently portray a positive image of the field of nursing within ASTRO, their institution and the community. This individual must be nominated by a radiation oncology professional. The nominee must be a member of ASTRO, licensed and currently working as a registered nurse or equivalent, and supported by an immediate supervisor. One grant of $1,000 will be awarded each year. Nomination deadline is July 1, 2010. Winners will be recognized at the Annual Meeting and in printed materials.

ASTRO Poster Recognition Award
The ASTRO Poster Recognition Award helps promote excellence in research in the field of radiation oncology and encourage presentation of this data at the ASTRO Annual Meeting. It recognizes the top 1 percent of posters accepted for viewing at the meeting. Applications are accepted as part of the abstract submission process. The awards are given to the top resident poster presentations. One award is offered in each of the three areas - clinical, biology and physics. The three selected participants are awarded a certificate of award and a ribbon. The poster presentation will be highlighted during the Presidential Poster Session and reception at the ASTRO Annual Meeting and recognized in printed materials.
