With 9,000 members worldwide, the American Society for Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology is the largest medical society specializing in the treatment of cancer with radiation therapies.
Each year, ASTRO's Radiation Oncology Institute funds research, travel and programs as part of the organization’s overall effort to prevent, treat and cure malignancies. Each year, ROI provides nearly $1 million to deserving researchers, clinicians and programs.
ASTRO’s research awards and grants are intended to support applications with a focus on radiation and cancer biology, radiation physics, translational research or outcomes/health services research. ASTRO’s program grants are intended to support radiation therapy, dosimetry and radiation physics programs in an effort to advance the specialty of radiation oncology.
The ASTRO Research Evaluation Committee, which is comprised of many of the nation’s most noted researchers, is currently seeking applications for the 2008 cycle. All interested individuals are encouraged to apply.
